1904 [1] Ernest Baggaley was born in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

1937-45 Ernest was works manager at Poole Pottery, where he developed Twintone glazes and designs Utility Ware.

1945 Branksome Ceramics set up in Surrey Road, Branksome, Bournemouth, initially producing electric firebars. Vitrified Earthenware range produced for a short time.

1947 British Industries Fair Advert as Manufacturers of Fine Pottery, Opaque and Semi-Translucent Porcelain. Superfine Tableware in Coloured Glazes. Breakfast, Coffee, Tea, Hors D'œuvres, Dinner, Sandwich Sets. Figures, Plaques, Vases, Bowls, Trays, Cheese, Butter, Fruit Dishes, etc. (Pottery and Glassware Section - Olympia, Ground Floor, Stand No. A.1174) [2]

1957 Branksome Ceramics went into liquidation, due to ill-advised expansion. Ernest Baggaley set up E. Baggaley Ltd, trading as Branksome China, he continued to produce porcelain in Westbourne, Bournemouth.

1966 E. Baggaley Ltd moved to Fordingbridge, Hampshire, and started selling exclusively from the factory and their own shop.

1987 Ernest died at the age of 83. His wife Elaine, son Jonathan and daughter Priscilla continued to produce Branksome China at Fordingbridge.

2007 Elaine Baggaley retired. Philip and Charlie Johnson acquired Branksome China.
