1949 Fire at Briar Mill, Shaw.[3]
1953 'The Lancashire Cotton Corporation, the world's biggest spinning combine, have bought the Briar Mill. Shaw, Lancs, which contains more than 120,000 spindles.'[4]
1988 Mill closed by Courtaulds.[5]
