Originally a spinning mill with 18,888 mule spindles and 26,664 ring spindles, the addition of a weaving shed included 624 looms.

1905 The extension to the Britannia Weaving Mill at the Darwen Spinning Co. is now practically completed, and new looms are arriving on the premises.[1]
