1930 Description of the Sousedik electric starter invented by Josef Sousedik and manufactured in Britain by British Sousedik Electric Motors, designed to overcome the disadvantages of using the ordinary wound-rotor motor with slip rings, while retaining the simplicity of the squirrel-cage type.[2]
