Bromford Forge

From Graces Guide

of Erdington, Birmingham

1754 The forge was visited and described by the Swedish industrial spy R. R. Angerstein[1]. The forge was housed in a wooden building, which contained a water-driven hammer and finery and chafery hearths with water-powered bellows. The forge was owned by Messrs Knight and Spooner, who also owned a blast furnace to the west of Birmingham.
