Brooklands Motorcycle

From Graces Guide

Brooklands was a motorcycle produced in 1983.

Following on after Norton stopped making the Manx, other companies took over the production of spares and sometimes complete machines. Various types of replica evolved, one of which was the Brooklands Model 40. It was traditional in most respects and used the famed featherbed frame, forks on the Roadster style and conical hubs for the drum brakes. The main difference was the 497cc Weslake engine that had chain-driven dohc opening four valves. Ignition was electronic, a huge oil tank supplied dry-sump lubrication and an Amal Concentric supplied the mixture. The four-speed gearbox had primary drive in an alloy chaincase.
