1912 'Mr. J. Perry (b.1856) and Capt. Dyer acquired the extensive Burthy China Clay Works, near Grampound, of which they are the managing partners. These works, together with the brick manufacturing plant, has also been largely developed, and the output nearly doubled.'[1]
