Burton's Foods

From Graces Guide

The company was formed from the merger of Burton's Gold Medal Biscuits and Horizon Biscuit Co in October 2000. They have factories in Blackpool, Llantarnam in Cwmbran, South Wales, Edinburgh, Scotland, Moreton, Merseyside and Victoria Street, St Albans.

2000 the business was sold by Associated British Foods to Hicks Muse Tate and Furst which merged it with Hillsdown Holdings[1]

Acquired Lyons Biscuits Ltd.

Products included Wagon Wheels and Jammie Dodgers[2]

2006 Sold the confectionery business (liquorice allsorts and dolly mixtures) to Tangerine Confectionery[3]

On 18 March 2007, Burton's Foods was acquired by Duke Street Capital.

In September 2009 Burton's came under the new ownership of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Apollo Global Management with a minority stake held by Duke Street.

2011 Burton’s Foods was rebranded as the Burton’s Biscuit Company, reflecting the company’s strategy as a focused leader in the biscuit market.

2013 Brands included Cadbury's Biscuits, Jammie Dodgers, Maryland Cookies and Wagon Wheels. Factories at Liverpool, Edinburgh, Blackpool and Llantarnam; chocolate refinery at Moreton.
