Butler and Taylor

1828 July: Joseph Butler (1797-1870) moved to Stanningley and, in partnership with two or three others, started in business in a small way as ironfounders.

In partnership with Mr Taylor as Butler and Taylor, ironfounders, Stanningley, near Leeds.

1838 On the death of Mr. Taylor, Joseph Butler carried on the business until 1851 as Joseph Butler and Co, when it was transferred to his son John Butler, and Joseph Pitts, which later became the firm of Messrs. Butler and Pitts.
