1869 C. E. Lister and Co take over the lease of Hope Town Foundry from John Harris and Co as Iron and brass Founders and Smith Workers.[1]
1878 Bankrupt. 'In the Matter of Proceedings for Liquidation by Arrangement or Composition with Creditors, instituted by Charles Edward Lister, of Hope Town Foundry, Darlington, in the county of Durham, trading as C. E. Lister and Co., Iron founder.'[2]
