Calverley Edwin Riley (c1872-1956)

1932 Retired as General Manager Great Southern Railways.

1956 Died. 'Mr. Calverley Edwin Riley. M.A., whose death occurred unexpectedly in Dun Laoghaire, was formerly General Manager of the old Great Southern Railways Company. He was aged 84. He was educated at High School Dublin. and T.C.D.: and had held the posts of accountant, and later secretary to the company, and was with the company about 30 years before becoming its General Manager. He was an ex-chairman of the I.T.A. and was a member of the Hoard of the Church of Ireland Training College, and of the Board of the Dublin Savings Bank. He is survived by two sons. Mr. Raymond Riley and Victor Riley. and one daughter, Mrs, Margery Mellor.'[1]
