ARTHUR CLIFFORD EARP was born in London on 1st January 1883, and was educated at Margate College, Kent.

He was apprenticed to Mr. H. F. Harding, Engineer, of London, and afterwards devoted himself to Automobile Engineering, in which profession he went to India in 1907.

Until the commencement of the War, when he joined the Motor Transport Department of the Indian Army, he was General Manager of the Gauhati Shillong Motor Transport Co., Ltd., of Assam.

After his demobilization he was Manager to several Motor Transport Companies, notably the Naini Tal Co.

He died on the 12th November 1921, aged thirty-eight years.

He was elected an Associate Member of this Institution in 1915.
