Born the son of Robert Addyman, a Cloth Merchant

1881 Living at Harehills House, Harehills Lane, Potter Newton, Leeds: Robert Addyman (age 67 born Leeds), Merchant. With his wife Ann Addyman (age 61 born Runcorn) and their son [[Charles H. Addyman) (age 28 born Leeds), Agent. Also his niece.[1]

1882 Married at New Malton to Alice Thornton

1891 Living at 43 Brunswick Place, Hove. With his wife Alice and his niece.[2]

See here[3] for a detailed timeline for Addyman's life. He was born in Leeds in 1852, and died in Steyning in 1911. He was still living in Leeds in 1872, when he became a Lieutenant in the 1st West Yorkshire Artillery Volunteers. The next entry has him living in Leeds in 1881. Presumably he was living in New York in 1876, when the clutch patent was granted in the UK.

1911 August 29th. Died at Hove.
