From Graces Guide

of Dundee

Wine and spirit merchants, and Scotch whisky merchants.

1800 This was the reputed date of establishment.

1902 C. R. Baxter and Company Limited, of 4 Horse Wynd, Dundee, was registered as a private concern, with capital of £3,000, to acquire the business of that name, wine and spirit merchants in Dundee.[1]

1923 At the time of the liquidation of James Watson and Co, C. R. Baxter was described as being a "wing" of that business.[2]

The company was known for its seven-year old blended whisky, "Baxter's Barley Bree".
