Caerleon Bridge

From Graces Guide

A bridge over the River Usk (in tidal water)

Originally a timber trestle bridge.

John Gethin was invited to design a replacement bridge; his design was in cast iron, similar to the design of the Buildwas Bridge, but this scheme was not used.

c.1805-7 A 3-arch stone bridge was built by John Hodgkinson in conjunction with William Jessop to replace the previous bridge.
