Caledonian Iron Foundry of Mungret Street
1825 The Foundry was established in Mungret Street by David Spoworth.[1]
Farming tools, gates, grates, ovens and boilers were amongst products made by the foundry.
1836 Death of David Sponworth. His wife stated business would continue under supervision of an engineer from an English foundry but sources detail the foundry was closed by 1838 due to increased competition from English and Scottish foundries.[2]
