1914 Installed the third automatic telephone exchange in the UK for the Post Office at Hereford - this used the Lorimer system, built by the Canadian Machine Telephone Co. (patented in USA by E A Faller). Hereford was the only exchange of the Lorimer type installed in the UK and remained in working order for more than 11 years.

1922 The Post Office standardised on the Strowger system for automatic exchanges.
