Carmarthen Chemical Works
of Pantyffynnon, nr. Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, maker of wood distillation products and gunpowder.
Products included acetates (of lead, sodium, and calcium), naphthas, gunpowder, and charcoal.
Caleb Chivers, a manufacturer who also ran chemical works at Brechfa and at Maescwmmer near Newport, owned Carmarthen Chemical Works. Chivers was also a partner in Pontypridd Chemical Works, Glamorgan.
1871 The Carmarthen works were active
By the 1880s the works had closed.
