Catrine Footbridge
A wrought iron lattice girder bridge in the village of Catrine, Ayrshire.
1879 'CATRINE. New Iron Bridge. Messrs. James Finlay & Co, Catrine Works, of whom Archd. Buchanan, Esq., is the resident proprietor, on Wednesday, erected an elegant and very substantial Iron Bridge over the river Ayr, at Bridge Street, in the place of the old wooden bridge, which was erected in 1851. James Morton, manager, Catrine Works is the architect of the new bridge, which reflects the highest credit on the designer, and builders. The bridge is a gift from Messrs James Finlay & Co., to the inhabitants of Catrine. It will be completed and opened in the course of a fortnight. We understand that the inhabitants will have a demonstration on the occasion of the opening of the new bridge.' [1]
