C. H. Chester (c1901-1964)

1948 Resume. 'Mr. Chester, who is 47, went to Swindon from Wakefield in 1932. He is director, general manager, and secretary of the Swindon United Gas Company. He was educated at Wakefield High School for Boys, Wakefield Technical College, and Leeds University. training as a gas engineer with the Wakefield Gas Light Co. His first appointment was as technical assistant and chemist to Tully Gas Plants, Ltd., for whom he later took charge of all outside plant erection in Great Britain and abroad Subsequently he became assistant engineer, manager, and secretary for the Southbank and Normanby Gas Light and Coke Co. Ltd., Yorkshire. Two years later he returned to the Wakefield Gas Light Co. as deputy-engineer and manager.'[1]
