1937 'Messrs Champions are the oldest scissor makers in Sheffield, the business being founded in 1780. Mr. Walsh is the direct descendant of the founder, Mr. Thomas Champion.'[1]

1949 The 400 workers produced the one millionth pairs of scissors in the year. Claim to produce 40% of UK supply.[2]

1950 Acquired by Platers and Stampers.[3]

1959 Champion Scissors of Mexborough.[4]
