Charles Benjamin Bickell (1895-1936) Note: The name was Bickell but often misspelt as Bicknell
1936 Died. 'C. B. Bicknell, the London motor-cyclist who was to have been married on September 12, died in Massereene Hospital (Antrim), late on Saturday night, from injuries he received while riding in the Ulster Grand Prix. Bicknell, who was riding an Ariel, crashed into a wall at Muckamore corner. The machine rebounded from the wall, and he was flung off, head first. It was his first experience of the Clady course, near Belfast. Bicknell had won several motorcycle races at Brooklands in the past few years. In October last year he had a narrow escape from death when his machine went over the banking at Brooklands while was travelling more than 100 miles hour. '[1]
