1836 Parents marriage. 'At London, Mr. William Brooks, Grosvenor-Square, to Sarah Ann, third daughter of Mr. Charles Berjew, Land Surveyor, Hermitage, Dorset.'[1] Charles Berjew (1768-1854)

1839 May 5th. Born in Paddington the son of William Brooks and his wife Sarah Ann Berjew

1851 Living at 15 Wellington Place, Toxteth Park: William Brookes (age 38 born Sherborne, Dorset), Railway Clerk. With his wife Sarah Ann Brookes (age 38 born Sherborne, Dorset), Matron at a Benevolent Institution, and their three children; Charles Berjew Brookes (age 11 born London); William Stayner Brookes (age 9 born London); and Henry Samuel Brookes (age 7 born London). Also his sister Eleanor Berjew (age 28 born Hermitage, Dorset).[2]
