1914 Died. '...The deceased gentleman was the eldest son the late Mr. James Shaw, who founded the Midland Dyeworks at Shipley. Mr. C. B. Shaw and his brother, Mr. Fred Shaw, conducted the business after the death their father until 1898, when the concern was taken over by the Bradford Dyers’ Association. On behalf of the association they continued direct affairs at the Midland Dyeworks to about two years ago, when they received a gift of silver plate from their co-directors of the association, on the board of which they continued to sit....'[1]
