1898 Charles Brown and Company Limited was registered, with capital of £25,000, to acquire the business of Charles Brown, sawmiller and wood merchant, Arbroath. The registered office was at 16 North Grimsby Street, Arbroath.[1]

1907 The company was in liquidation when the business was acquired by the Arbroath Sawmill Co.
