1911 Living at 22 Magdalen Road, Exeter: Charles Cole (age 52 born Exeter), Architect and Surveyor. With his wife Mary and their three sons.[1]
1920 Died. 'Citizens of Exeter will regret to hear the death of Alderman Charles Cole, which took place at residence at 73 Mount Pleasant-road, Exeter. yesterday afternoon. Deceased was taken ill on Sunday, and passed away rather unexpectedly from haemorrhage of the liver. He had a very severe illness last Spring and a result he was considerably weakened. Deceased had carried on an extensive practice as architect and surveyor in the City for years, and latterly had been in partnership with Mr. Fred Jerman. He was very popular in local circles, and had a host of friends. Deceased had been a member of the City Council for a great number of years, first as councillor for St. Leonard's Ward and latterly as alderman.'[2]
