CHARLES CUTHBERT JOHNSON, born in 1877, was killed in action at the Dardanelles on the 9th June, 1915.
After passing through Coopers Hill, he joined the Madras Public Works Department in 1899, but resigned subsequently owing to ill-health.
He was next engaged on the construction of the Negombo Railway, Ceylon, and was a partner in the firm of Edwards and Company, contractors, of Doncaster, on the outbreak of the war, when he obtained a commission in the West Riding First Field Company, Royal Engineers.
Mr. Johnson was elected an Associate Member on the 3rd April, 1906.
