Charles Edward Rodgers Dye (1883- )

1953 Sole Proprietor, Charles Dye and Co., Yeovil and Taunton. Born Ashby-de-la-Zouch, 25th July, 1883. Educated at Ashby Grammar School. On leaving school joined L. & N. W. Railway as Clerk in Goods Department, followed by a period as sea-going apprentice in Merchant Service. In 1900 apprenticed to Ironmongery, became in 1907 a Commercial Traveller in Ironmongery, Motor and Cycle Products. Left to found own firm in 1919.
