Born the son of Samuel Evers

1864 Died. 'The death occurred on Tuesday at his residence, the Quarry, Pedmore, of Mr. Charles Evers Swindell, ac the age of 72 years. Mr. Swindell was a well-known ironmaster, being a member of the firm of Samuel Evers and Sons, of Cradley Iron Works, his father being the Samuel Evers who gave the name to the firm. The deceased gentleman took the name of Swindell on his marriage. Mr. Swindell was a magistrate for Worcestershire and Staffordshire. He was a generous contributor to various institutions, and gave a donation of £1,0o0 to the new Town Hall buildings at Stourbridge. St. John's Cycling Club.'[1]
