1922 Obituary[1]

"Death of Mr. Charles Godfrey Phillips.— We much regret to learn of the death on Sunday last at Llandrindod ’of Mr. Charles Godfrey Phillips, of the Emlyn Engineering Works and Foundry, Newport, Mon. The deceased gentleman who was subject to attack of giddiness, fell through a window of his hotel, fracturing his skull. He was 48 years of age, and was the son of the late Mr. Charles D. Phillips, the founder of the Emlyn Engineering Works. Of this establishment Mr. Phillips became joint manager in 1912, and retained this position up till a few months ago. During the war he served as Captain with the second line of the 4th Welsh B.F.A. Territorials, which-were raised in Monmouthshire."
