c1868 Born the son of John Marston

Educated at Wolverhampton and Mason College, Birmingham

1881 Living at The Oakes, Wolverhampton (age 13 born Wolverhampton). With his parents and family. [1]

c1895 Owned Villiers which he bought from his father

1895 Married firstly, Louise Isabel the daughter of William Gordon Johnson of Ithaca, New York and they had two daughters

1898 April 17th. Daughter born. Of the Highfields, Wolverhampton. [2]

1901 Living at 61 Penn Road, Wolverhampton (age 33 born Wolverhampton), a Cycle Manufacturer and Employer. With his wife Louisa J. (age 26 born USA) and their daughter Marjorie W. (age 2 born Wolverhampton). Also three servants. [3]

1911 Living at The Benyalow, Compton, Wolverhampton (age 43 born Wolverhampton), Cycle Manufacturer and Employer. With his wife Louise Isabel (age 36) and their daughter Melina Mary (age 2 born Wolverhampton). Also five servants. States they have been married 12 years and have two children and both living. [4]

Marston spent most of his time in politics, mainly as an eminence gris to the Conservative Party, turning down offers to stand for Parliament. Charles also had God on his shoulder and spent a great deal of money financing archaeological expeditions to the Holy Land, the purpose of which was to prove the truth of the Bible.

1926 He received a knighthood for "public services"

1935 Married thirdly, Mary Battey the widow of George Bonney of New York

He continued as Chairman of Villiers until his death in 1946.
