Charles Richard Crosher was born in 1883.

He was apprenticed to general engineering with Simson and Co., Leicester, and. gained automobile works experience with the Daimler Motor Company and the Lanchester Motor Company.

In 1908 he became a Draughtsman with D. Napier and Son, leaving them three years later to take charge of the Repair Shop of Scottish Commercial Cars, Glasgow.

In 1915 he transferred to Cammell Laird and Co., Ltd., as Chief Draughtsman in the Tool Drawing Office.

After the war he returned to Scotland as Chief Engineer to Caledon Motors, Ltd., until, in 1921, he became Managing Director of the Melton Garage and Engineering Company, Ltd., Melton Mowbray.

He died on 1st October, 1944, at the age of 61.

He was elected an Associate Member in 1909.
