1894 January: matriculated at London University

1894 Became a student of the Inst of Civil Engineers[2]

1911 Charles W Kay 34, electrical and mechanical engineer, lived in Camberwell with Alice E M Kay 35, Alice Maud Kay 6, Frederick G Kay 2, Constance Ruth Kay 5 months[3]

1915 Invented a caterpillar tractor which he patented and submitted to the Ministry of Munitions. They rejected the concept but commissioned a similar machine from Clayton and Shuttleworth which was completed in 1917.[4]

1939 Charles W Kay, a marker out of timber, widower, lived in Islington[5]

1962 Died in Clacton-on-Sea[6]
