1879 May 14th. Born the son of William James Turner

1881 Living at Abbey Hey Lane, Droylsden: William J. Turner (age 37 born Manchester), Loco Engine Fitter. With his wife Elizabeth Turner (age 33 born Manchester) and their four sons; Thomas W. Turner (age 9 born Wolverhampton); Fred Turner (age 6 born Droylsden); Joseph Turner (age 4 born Droylsden); and Charles Turner (age 1 born Droylsden).[1]

1901 Living at 43 Abbey Hey Lane, Droylsden: William J. Turner (age 57 born Hulme), Steam Engine Fitter. With his wife Elizabeth Turner (age 53 born Manchester) and their four sons; Charley Turner (age 21 born Manchester), Pattern Maker; Bennett Turner (age 19 born Manchester), Machine Fitter Apprentice; Harry Turner (age 17 born Manchester), Moulder Apprentice; and James Turner (age 14 born Manchester), Engine Fitter Apprentice.[2]
