1912 The cost of coal increased significantly; Chester Corporation decided to instal a hydro-electric station on the River Dee.

1913 Construction of hydro-electric plant on the River Dee; Mr R.(?) E. Britten engineer.

1923 the plant consisted of 1 × 185 kW and 2 × 225 kW hydro-electric machines.
