Christian Frederick August Mebes (1863-1935) of Mebes and Mebes

Born at Moeckern by Magdeburg, Germany, the son of Christian and Louiza Mebes.

1911 Living at 33 Mornington Crescent, St Pancras: Christian Frederick Mebes (age 47 born Germany), Motor Engineer. With his wife Rhoda Margaret Mebes, two daughters and sons Christian Frederick Mebes (age 20 born Walworth), Motor Engineer, and John Shepherd Mebes (age 14 born Walworth).[1]

1935 Died. 'The founder of Messrs. Mebes & Mebes, The Broadway, Mill Hill, has passed away in the person of Mr. Christian Frederick Mebes, aged 71 years, of Glebe-wayy, Whitstable, Kent. Mr. Mebes, who started the business Great Portland-street in 1895, died April 2. He retired from business seven years ago. A widow, two sons and two daughters are left to mourn his loss.'[2]
