1851 'from Messrs. Clabburn and Son, one of their rich topaz filled Norwich long shawls, this shawl being the first specimen of large and expensive mounting, hitherto produced in Norwich on a Jacquard loom, the work being finer than can possibly be obtained on the old "tire loom."'[1]

1851 'On Thursday the inst., the members of the establishment of Messrs. Clabburn, Sons, and Crisp, assembled Mr. Cattermole's, Thorpe, where they were regaled with excellent dinner, at the hospitality of Messrs. Crisp and Thomas Clabburn, jun., in celebration their recent admission to the firm of Clabburn and Son.'[2]
