1880 James Clarkson and Co, Maryhill Engine Works.

1885 Made the engine for the SS John Strachan, built by William Swan and Co, Kelvin Dock, Maryhill, for the Kirkcaldy, Leith, and Glasgow Steamship Carrying Co. [1]

1887 Copartnery of James Clarkson and Edward Beckitt dissolved with the retirement of James Clarkson. Business continued under the same title by Edward Beckitt [2]

1909 Supllied pipe bending machine for HMS Cyclops.

The factory was later occupied by Craig and Buchanan. The building was being refurbished in 2018, retaining the gantry of a Royce 10-ton overhead crane[3]
