1911 Gained his aviator's certificate[2]

1914 Capt. C. M. Waterlow, Royal Engineers, serving in the Airship and Kite Squadron, Military Wing, now transferred to the Naval Wing, Royal Flying Corps: concession as regards examination for promotion.

1917 Major C M Waterlow (temporary rank of Lieut Colonel), of the Royal Engineers, was killed in action; buried in Leasingham, Lincs[3]

1944 Refers to 'the late Colonel C. M. Waterlow'
