Clyde Steam Boats
1813 October. Three of these boats plying between Glasgow and Greenock. 75 feet long and 14 feet wide. 12 hp engine. 16 paddles formed in two nine feet diameter wheels. Runs at four mph in calm weather. Carries 250 passengers and five crew. 22 mile journey and usually dine in four to five hours. [1]
