1912 The Coasting Motor Shipping Company Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £50,000, to carry on the business of shipowners.[1] Over the next two years a number of "motor puffers" were built, eight of them in the Kirkintilloch yard of P. McGregor and Sons.[2]

1920 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[3]
