Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway
1856 The Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway Company opened a line between Little Mill Junction, Pontypool and Usk
1857 Line was extended to Monmouth.
1860 'COLEFORD. MONMOUTH, USK, AND PONTYPOOL RAILWAY.- Mr. Firbank, of Newport, the contractor for erecting the intended iron viaduct across, the Wye, at Monmouth, in continuance of the line of railway towards Coleford, is proceeding vigorously with the work. The viaduct is from the celebrated works of the Messrs. Kennard, at Crumlin, and will be built on nearly the same principle as the magnificent structure at Crumlin. It will be formcd of a girder 150 feet long, resting on stone arches of 30 feet span, and will be 50 feet above the level of the Wye.' [1]
1861 The Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway was leased by the West Midlands Railway.
1873 The Coleford branch was opened.
1881 This little railway was absorbed by the Great Western Railway.[2]
