Contrast-JAP

From Graces Guide

Contrast-JAP was a motorcycle produced in 1911-1912.

Little information is available regarding this marque as it was a rare make not seen at shows or found on lists.

1911 One listed in results with Charles Thackray riding. Organised by the Ilkley Club.[1]

One ran in a 1912 trial organised by the Ilkley and District Motor Cycle Club. [2]

It was possibly built by a local firm - (Charles Thackray?) - who used a 3.5 h.p. JAP engine and typical cycle parts.
