Craigellachie Hotel

The development of a hotel which met modern standards was the initiative of Alexander Edward. It tied in with another venture, which was the establishment of the Craigellachie Distillery. Edward was partnered in this by another established distiller, Peter Mackie. Charles Chree Doig was used as the architect of both the hotel and the distillery. The hotel aimed to tap into the market for country sports, especially fishing

1892 The Craigellachie Hotel Company Limited was incorporated. The company went into voluntary liquidation in 1897 and was dissolved the following year
