1894 'GEORGE GIBBS FAIRCLOTH, Crescent Steel Works, Sheffield, will exhibit files, rims, spokes, saddle springs, tubing, hubs, &c. Those visitors of a technical turn of mind will be interested in a number of specimens showing the operation of converting steel from the Swedish ore to the finished bar, as also those showing the manufacture of files from the rolled steel bar to the finished file.'[1]
