1899 James Shanks licensed Cruikshank and Co to manufacture improved top ring action

1904 Patent No. 3389 "Cleats or devices for securing tarpaulin or canvas covering on ships hatches or like purposes" submitted by M. J. Shanks.
c.1914 Was bought out by Thomas Shanks and Co (?).
1923-30 Patent No. 224714 “Improvement in and relating to Cattle Watering Devices”; Patent No. 252895 Improvements in and relating to valves for cattle watering devices”
1945 Licence from Cruikshank and Co Ltd and J. K. Shanks to Henry Russell Ltd for manufacture of cattle watering bowl
