Cyril Jakins was born in 1920.

He was apprenticed at Dennis Bros., Guildford, leaving the firm to join the Royal Air Force, where he attained the rank of Sergeant-Pilot.

He was killed on active service in November, 1941, at the age of 22.

He was elected a Student in 1938.
