Cyril Tedman (1876- )

1922 M.C., Assoc.M.Inst.C.E., Civil Engineer (Railway ), District Engineer, G.I.P. Railway, Poona, India. b. 1876; s. of the late Rev. J. Tedman; m. Doris Julia, d. of R. E. Turnbull of Ruswarp, Yorks. Ed. Clifton College and University College, Bristol. Articled to the late [J. C. Inglis|Sir J. C. Inglis]] of G.W. Railway. In Engineering Department, G.W.R., 1897-1902; appointed Assistant Engineer, G.I.P. Railway, India, in March, 1902, and has been employed in the Engineering Department of that railway ever since, except for the period of the war when on military service. Now District Engineer in charge of Poona District. Chief Works: Resident Engineer in charge doubling line, Lonavla to Poona, 1905-8; District Engineer, doubling the line, Shegaon to Nagpur (180 miles), 1912-4; employed on maintenance work of railway during balance of service. War Services.—Appointed Temporary Lieutenant, Indian Army, April, 1915. Active service with " W " 21st Company Sappers and Miners in France, July, 1915; in Mesopotamia, January, 1916; in Palestine, April, 1918, till March, 1919. Awarded Military Cross, April, 1916; demobilized in Bombay, April. 1919.
