DANIEL C. LLOYD died at his residence, Stockwell End, Tettenhall, on July 7, 1931, at the age of fifty-one.
He was the son of the founder of F. H. Lloyd & Co., Ltd., Wednesbury, and was chairman and joint managing director of the company at the time of his death.
He was also chairman of the Weldless Steel Tube Co., Ltd., Wednesfield, a director of M. B. Wild & Co., Ltd., engineers, Aston, and was connected with Lloyd and Rider, Ltd., stampers, Birmingham.
Mr. Lloyd was a firm believer in co-operation between the firm and the workpeople, and he had introduced a scheme of profit-sharing into his own works which had worked well for a number of years. Mr. Lloyd took a prominent part in public affairs; he was a member of the Tettenhall local authority for a number of years, and a Commissioner of Taxes for fifteen years. He was a Captain in the Sixth Battalion of the South Staffordshire Territorial Regiment.
He joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1905.
