Daimler: 2.5-Litre Dauphin

Note: This is a sub-section of Daimler
This 1953 Daimler, which was originally displayed as a Lanchester, was then coverted and re-registered as a Daimler. It was then used by the general manager of Daimler for his own personal transport. Daimler tried to use the Dauphin to raise the profile of Lanchester, but due to its high cost failed to do so.
The Dauphin was built on a conquest-Leda chassis with an uprated Conquest engine giving 94 bhp. It has the strict Conquest style 5 instrument dashboard layout with a single large central speedometer set within Hooper dashboards of the period. The Dauphin has a 2.5 litre straight 6 engine with pre-selector gearbox with electric windows fitted as standard.
OVC 444 was sold at auction a few years ago and remains within the Daimler Lanchester Owners Club.
